Child Safety Standards
This Child Safety Standards Policy explains how Crush – Tell Your Crush (“Crush”, “we”, “us”) protects children from
sexual abuse and exploitation on our platform. This page is designed to meet Google Play’s Child Safety Standards requirements.
It is not legal advice; please consult your own legal counsel for jurisdiction‑specific compliance.
1. Overview
Crush is a social/dating app intended for adults. We have a zero‑tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and
exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We remove such content when we become aware of it, take action
on involved accounts, and may report them to law enforcement and relevant child protection organizations where required
or appropriate.
2. Scope and Audience
This policy applies to the Crush mobile app, website, and any related services operated by us. It covers all users and all
content and behavior on our platform. Crush is designed for users who are 18 years or older (or the age of
majority in their jurisdiction, if higher).
3. Definitions
- Child / Minor: Any person under 18 years of age, or under the age of majority in their jurisdiction if higher.
-
CSAE (Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation): Any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or
endangers a child. This includes grooming, sextortion, trafficking for sexual purposes, or any other sexual exploitation
involving a child.
-
CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material): Any visual depiction (photos, videos, live streams, animations,
computer‑generated imagery, etc.) of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct or otherwise defined as CSAM under
applicable law. CSAM is illegal and strictly prohibited.
4. Zero‑Tolerance Policy
We do not permit CSAE or CSAM on Crush under any circumstances. Users must not:
- Create, upload, share, request, or store CSAM.
- Groom, solicit, or otherwise sexually exploit children.
- Send sexual messages, photos, or any sexualized content to or about minors.
- Encourage or facilitate contact with minors for sexual purposes.
- Impersonate a minor or misrepresent age to interact with minors for sexual purposes.
We may remove content, restrict features, and suspend or terminate accounts involved in CSAE or CSAM and may report them
to law enforcement and/or child protection organizations as required or appropriate.
5. Age Restrictions and Underage Users
- Crush is intended only for users aged 18+ (or the local age of majority, if higher).
- Users must confirm they meet this age requirement during registration.
-
If we become aware that a user may be underage, we may suspend or terminate the account and remove associated content,
consistent with our legal obligations.
6. Prohibited Content and Conduct (Child Safety)
The following are strictly prohibited on Crush:
- CSAM in any form, including edited or computer‑generated imagery involving minors.
- Sexualized content that depicts or describes minors in a sexual manner.
- Grooming behavior or attempts to establish sexual relationships with minors.
- Sextortion, coercion, or threats involving minors or their intimate images.
- Requests for sexual images, videos, or contact details from minors.
- Any attempt to bypass age restrictions or encourage minors to misrepresent their age.
7. In‑App Reporting and User Feedback Mechanisms
Users can report child safety concerns directly within the Crush app:
-
By using the in‑app “Report” function on profiles, messages, photos, or other content and selecting an
appropriate reason such as “Child sexual exploitation”, “Underage user”, or “Inappropriate content”.
-
By contacting support through the in‑app Help/Support area (where available).
-
If in‑app reporting is not possible, by emailing us at
.
If a child is in immediate danger, users should also contact local law enforcement or emergency services.
8. How We Respond to CSAE and CSAM
When we receive a report or otherwise become aware of potential CSAE or CSAM, we may:
- Prioritize and promptly review the report.
- Temporarily restrict or suspend accounts while we investigate.
- Remove or disable access to violating content.
- Suspend or terminate accounts confirmed or reasonably believed to be involved.
-
Where required by law or appropriate, report suspected CSAM or CSAE to relevant law enforcement authorities and/or
child protection organizations.
-
Preserve relevant information, subject to applicable privacy and data‑protection laws, to support investigations and
legal obligations.
9. Compliance with Laws and Industry Standards
We are committed to complying with applicable child safety and CSAM laws in the jurisdictions where we operate. Our
approach is also informed by industry best practices, including the Tech Coalition’s Child Safety standards and similar
guidance. We periodically review and update our policies, tools, and processes in light of legal developments and
evolving best practices.
10. Prevention, Moderation, and Safety Measures
To help prevent and detect CSAE and CSAM on Crush, we may use a combination of:
- User reporting and flagging tools.
- Human moderation and review workflows.
- Automated detection and anti‑abuse systems, where legally permissible.
- Rate‑limiting and fraud‑prevention measures.
- User education and in‑app safety messages, where appropriate.
11. Privacy and Data Related to Child Safety
Information collected in connection with child safety reports is processed in line with our
Privacy Policy and applicable data‑protection laws.
-
We use this information only for purposes such as investigating and responding to reports, enforcing our terms and
policies, and complying with legal obligations.
- Access to such information is limited to personnel who need it for these purposes.
- We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect this data.
12. Child Safety / CSAM Point of Contact
We maintain a designated point of contact for questions and escalations related to child safety and CSAM:
Please do not send or attach CSAM in any form. Instead, describe the concern and provide relevant
non‑CSAM details (such as usernames, timestamps, and in‑app links). We may follow up or coordinate with authorities as
appropriate.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Child Safety Standards Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date below reflects the most
recent version. Your continued use of Crush after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
